ReBlade: The Death Spiral Beginner Guide for the Demo
ReBlade demo beginner guide: Shield Axe start, trials, nodes, shops, black copper, four revives, and mistakes to avoid in v0.4.44.
FAQ
What weapon should beginners pick in the ReBlade demo?
How many revives do you get per trial in the demo?
What is black copper used for?
Can you parry every attack in ReBlade?
Does the demo save carry into the full game?
How many trials are in the Steam Next Fest demo?
What should you do first in the ReBlade demo?
Pick a trial, choose Shield Axe if you want the path the official Demo FAQ recommends for newcomers, and spend your first minutes learning when to parry versus dodge. The demo has three weapons and three trials (one main plus two side routes), each with standard difficulty and three higher tiers above that. Combat is built around timing and control, so reading enemy tells matters more than button mashing.
Before you push deep into a run, skim the parry and combat basics page and the demo weapons overview so you know how each starter weapon feels. If you need dates, demo window, or FAQ links, use the demo overview and Next Fest hub.

How does one run progress through nodes and shops?
A run is a trial: you fight through procedurally laid-out urban layers, pick routes between nodes, and clear rooms before timers pressure you. Preview coverage describes most regions vanishing after a time limit, which forces you to commit to a path instead of clearing everything. Boss nodes appear after you advance far enough; you choose when to take them rather than being rushed instantly.
Shops are rare. Reported demo behavior: a merchant visit disappears after you use it once, so enter with black copper saved and a plan for weapon or Mod upgrades. Preview play also notes layer choices and limited shopping, matching the roguelite loop of risk now versus power later.

Node rewards sometimes include optional platform chests. In developer-sponsored challenge footage, grabbing those optional chests did not advance the run’s turn counter at node settlement (turns advance after node resolution). Treat that as one reported behavior, not a guaranteed rule for every chest type.
What resources and consumables matter in the demo?
Two upgrade currencies show up consistently in reported demo runs:
| Resource | Reported use | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| black copper | Weapon and Mod strengthening | Recycling replaced weapons returns black copper |
| monocrystalline silicon | Chip strengthening | Chips add modifiers such as bonus Boss damage in reported examples |
Consumables called out in preview and challenge footage include a repair flask alongside healing. Revives are unusually generous for a roguelite: challenge footage reports four revives per trial. On revive, repair flask charges refill, but revive count does not.
When a weapon drops, you can transfer or merge upgrades between weapons of the same type. If a transfer icon flashes white light, that marks a merge opportunity according to preview commentary.

Chips slot into your build and modify attacks (for example, reported +10% Boss damage chips). Plan silicon spending after you know which weapon you will keep. Details sit in combat guides and weapon pages rather than here.
What mistakes do new players make?
Trying to parry red attacks. Multiple previews agree: red-glow moves cannot be parried; dodge them. See the dedicated parry guide for tells on Normal difficulty (attack flash before impact in IGN China’s reported Normal setup).
Spending all black copper before the shop. Because the shop may only appear once, arriving broke wastes your best upgrade window. Hold copper until you see Mods or a weapon swap you will keep.
Ignoring route timers and optional paths. Timed regions mean backtracking for every fight is not always possible. Optional chests can still be worth detours when footage shows they do not cost a turn at settlement.
Forgetting demo persistence rules. Progress helps you learn systems, but official FAQ says demo saves do not carry into the full game. Use the save file and continue guide if Continue Game or file location confuses you after the v0.4.44 patch notes.

Where should you go next?
After your first clear or two, compare weapons on the demo weapons overview, drill parry timing, and read individual pages for Sword, Twin Blades, and Shield Axe. When you are ready for a check fight, the The Black boss notes summarize a highlight Boss from preview coverage (name as used in community footage).
